He is Faithful that Promised

He is Faithful that Promised:

Just a few days ago my Mom and I were enjoying the warmth of the sun as we drank our coffee and reading the Scriptures. (We really enjoy spending time outdoors once it gets warm…it seems that when we are in God's creation there are no hinderances to feel His presence.) The verses that has continued to  encourage me are:

      Hebrews 10:19-23
     (19) Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus, (20) By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us through the veil, that is to say, his flesh; (21) And having an high priest over the house of God; (22) Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water. (23) Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)

To realize what God is telling us through Paul in these verses is astounding! We are given the ability to enter into the holiest of holies with boldness by Jesus' blood. Because when Jesus cried, "It is finished," and gave up the ghost on the cross of Calvary, it caused the veil of the temple to be rent in two from top to bottom. Which gives us a picture of His rent body and how access to God was given through Jesus. We can receive a full heart with assurance of faith because when they pierced the side of Christ, his blood which sprinkles us from an evil conscience came out with water…pure water with which to cleanse our bodies.

But the greatest part of these verses to me is verse 23 that has us hold fast to the profession of our faith without wavering, that is to believe that Jesus Christ came to earth to die on the cross for our sins, was buried and rose again on the third day, and is now seated on the right hand of the throne of God. The most reassuring part (for me) though is the last little bit of verse 23 "for he is faithful that promised". What did Jesus promise to do? Come again! How I love that He always keeps his word and reminds us always that He is faithful that promised…He will come again.
